I'm so excited for our walk on May 1st. We are proud participants in the March for Babies. If any of you have held a preemie you can't but help donate to such a remarkable cause. These babies are all miracles and little angels. We have 2 weeks to meet our donations. If you can't donate get out and walk at your local March for Babies you will not be let down!
Although, it's almost been 3 yrs that Rocco was born... I often still think of his preemie days and life in the NICU. Those memories came back to me recently when Rocco was in the hospital. I was reminded how blessed we are to have sweet Rocco. I will never forget the lessons I learned as I sat quietly in the NICU with Rocco. I had lots and lots of time to think, ponder, and pray about life. We recognize that there are many families and too many moms and dads that know the heartbreak of having a baby born fighting to survive. Many who are so precious and close to us. My whole heart goes out to these families who have suffered a loss. As a family we are volunteering again this year, so other families like ours don't have to face the issues of prematurity, birth defects, and infant loss.
In the spring of 2008 about 40 of our friends joined our team "Rocco ~n~Roll" and participated in the 6 miles March of Dimes, March for Babies. Last year Just the 3 of us marched in pouring rain in honor of these amazing angels both in Heaven and on Earth . As a team our first year we collected almost $700.00 to donate to the March of Dimes and have continued with great success.In my heart I want to do something to help those who have suffered a loss and for families who have gone through the NICU experience like us. Throughout the walks many emotions overcame me: I feel sad for the loss of loved ones, peace of the knowledge these babies are in Heaven, and happiness knowing I was helping with a great cause. I have been undeniably touched and changed by the mission of the March of Dimes since May 17, 2007. I invite you to walk in your local march for babie and donate to this remarkable cause that has personally impacted my families life through team Rocco Roll 2010!!
